America..... Here I come.
Wednesday, November 21, 2007/4:16 PM
Tomorrow, I am leaving for the states tomorrow and I absolutely cannot wait. Even though my heart is absolutely filled with excitement and anticipation, I ponder upon the fact that I would be riding an aeroplane. I mean, most of my girls would know that I am a nervous flyer. Three things i hate is:
1) The aeroplane air mixed with the stench of morning coffee.
2) The air turbulence.
3) The food. UGH! Someone shoot me.

So yeah. I sort of hate flying. If I could rate flying out of ten, I would give it a three. A measely three.

Being at America I am going to miss several things:

1. Hulabagi. My heart and soul.
2. My bed.
3. My television.
4. My computer privilliges.
5. Halal food everywhere I turn.
6. My instant noodle stash.
7. My fridge.
8. My beloveds.
9. Going out with hulabagi and my beloveds.

HAHA! So yeah. There isn't any of these in America. I'll miss them all.

My flight is at five in the afternoon tomorrow. But I am leaving at ten in the morning to explore the airport. Weird family. Hopefully, I will come home safe and sound.

Love you all,
Namira Nasir.

Hello everybody and everything. It was a very rainy monday today. So yeah.

I went to school today. I know. It is one of the most inhumane things a teacher can do to you especially since you just started your holidays. Its even worse when the teacher calls you back to do a test. I know you'll be thinking, 'Why not just have the test next year?' That is just one of the questions that 3/7 asks themselves sometimes. Its just one of those mysteries that come and go when it concerns Mrs Grace Low. We really just don't bother.

So, I went to white sands to return a library book. So, i took the number three bus home as usual. As I was waiting and minding my own business, this nun of some sort stood behind me when everybody was sitting down. She stood so close to me that if i slightly turned, I would be touching her elbow. Two words, Personal Space. I think everybody needs to instill in their minds that you cannot stand too close to a person that the person can feel your breathing. The nun was petite. You could tell she was in a hurry. She kept jumping on one foot as if she needed to go to the loo.

As I boarded the bus and sat down, I saw the nun sitting beside a secondary school boy when there were like a hundred seats around her. So... It just makes you think about it you know.

Messages:
Eng Liang: Thanks for talking to me about your trip to Paris while doing our test.
Azmi: Thanks for stealing my seat so that I cannot talk to Eng Liang about how he was robbed.
Raudhah: I SAW YOU! HAHA! I saw you and your boyfriend babe. And you looked great.

Racism is a very big issue in the world. Especially in America, social and racial prejudice still lives on. (*Cue ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ synopsis) It seems like some people still cannot stand that other races live among them. People of different religions or beliefs. Its absolutely revolting how some people can actually loathe a person of different colours and religions.

Me and Syafiqah were and Siska’s house. We were watching random videos on YouTube when we stumbled upon this video where Tyra Banks was interviewing a family of racists.

This is the video. Don’t be shocked at what you are about to see because it will shock you.

Imagine knowing a family that inculcates racial discrimination against the ‘Blacks’. Parents that bring up their child with the idea that the African Americans are the enemy and that they should avoid them at all costs. What kind of people are these? I was absolutely disgusted at the father and the mother. The father especially. I mean, you can’t just ship off African Americans because they are of different a color than you.

My message to all Racists:

‘People who cannot stand living with different races are considered immature. Being the majority race does not mean that you are more superior. It’s okay to stand up for your beliefs but it does not mean you should look down upon others. There is a thin line between standing up for your beliefs and crushing other religions to so called ‘make your kind more superior’. I have up most respect for Americans, white or black. But one cannot help but have rage or anger in their souls when they see or meet people like you. Your children are not to blame. Bringing up your family with this concept would only make your child socially deprived as no one, I repeat, no one would want to be friends with a racist. I definitely wouldn’t. Honestly, what kind of example are you setting for your children? That violence is key? I wouldn’t be surprised if one day, they would just betray you and then I hope you realize your mistake and it’s not too late. People who cannot stand living with different races are considered immature, and I think it’s time to grow up.’

I love all my friends. I don’t look at their race or color. I love them for who they are. So, let’s together avenge racism and wipe it out permanently from our society.

I am going to America for the holidays. So, i have decided to check up on that country before I go. So, I was watching Arts Central one night. Then, one of my favourite shows was on. Fashion Avenue. It is a show, where this model travels all over the world and goes shopping. She will be accompanied by a native of shopping of that country and with their guidance, she will search the entire city for the pecfect outfit for a certain occasion.

That night, she went to Chicago. She was accompanied by this lady, who in my opinion is the GURU of shopping, clothes and fashion. She brought the model to this shop which I think is the cutest shop in the world. It's called the T-Shirt deli. Okay, you might think that the word 'deli' may be absolutely far-fetched from the word shirts. But when you see it, you are absolutely going to shocked.

this is how it looks like.
outside:

inside

See the little things in the fridge that look like they are meats or sandwiches? Well, thats the T-Shirts.

And this is how they are packed.

Delicious nO? haha. Well, this creative idea is the hub of chicago.

Close-up on the fridge, i mean display:

its great. Just choose a shirt. Which can be a T-shirt, or a tank top. or even a jacket or a sweater. AND! you can choose what you want to put on the shirt. A saying. Choose the font, the colour and let them do the magic. Fabulous letter press ons and you have your very own shirt.

America, is so funny.

Woohoo!! I had my learning journey today to the Marinetime and Port Authority of Singapore. Honestly, in my opinion, the experience was bittersweet. There were times that were absolutely fantastic. And other times were well, sickening.

The day started great. There was school, as usual. I could hardly contain my excitement. Then, school ended. I skipped to canteen and expected to see maryam’s anticipating face saying that she can’t wait to go to the National Environmental Agency of Singapore. Being an environmentalist and all, maryam could hardly wait to be there. She wasn’t there so I waited and waited. When she didn’t come for a long time, I decided I should just go to lunch with siska, jean and sally. Then, I called Ain and she told me that maryam and nabilah were at their Parent Teacher Meeting. I felt a sudden sympathy for both of them. My time will come.

So, I decided to head to the teacher’s room to check them out. Then, I saw nabilah’s parents talking to Mrs Sheri. Nabilah’s face was so pissed. I shot her a look of sympathy then I saw maryam and her mom. I said hi to her mom. She was nice. So, I went down to canteen to wait for both of them. Then, Rizal came over and we talked. When he left I kept waiting. So I went to the minimart and bought stuff and when I came back, me and farah went spying on the parent teacher meeting. Then we started laughing for no reason. WHAT ONLY FARAH AIN! So…. I saw mary and we went minimart.

OH YES! When we returned, I went for the briefing and these two old, but cute, guys were talking. Then I sat with Faqiha on the bus and we listened to my MP3 and laughed at everything.

When we were there, we straight away went onto the boat. My excitement had suddenly dissolved into something weird and different. I most definitely did not want that feeling. What I felt, was sea sickness. Faqiha didn’t take my feeling seriously. I sat beside Solomon who was such a sweetheart and so funny. We made fun of the guy who was talking to us. Then, he went to sleep coz’ he was tired, I went to sleep because I felt sick. The queasiness was so unbearable. I hated it so much. The boat practically jumped out of the water and was bouncing up and down, side to side. It was the worst thing ever. Every time the boat lurched, my stomach flipped. For forty-five minutes, I had to withstand the worst. If it wasn’t for Solomon’s cologne, I would have threw up there and then.

On the journey home, me and faqiha listened to more music. Then, we were so exasperated that we fell asleep. When I woke up, I wove to some random boys at the bustop and when I wanted to wake faqiha up, I played ‘wakeupcall’ on my MP3 and she sprung up. Ha-Ha faqiha.

I learned several things today:
-Fear Parents and Teachers
-I hate boats
-Avoid Parallex Error when measuring angles

self-proclamation.
My life is not a fascination worth the scrutiny of those who watch over me. Yet, I live amongst thin air and sparkling personalities. I am an avid fan of the KoreanPop scene. So bring me to the number thirteen.

read my lips.

they're watching.
